Brad Fox -

Cause: The current user does not have read/write privileges for the parts database file.

AlarmCAD Solution: Delete the file C:\ProgramData\AlarmCAD <your version>\AAParts.mdb

Then, open AlarmCAD and update the database.

AutoSPRINK Solution: Delete* the file C:\ProgramData\AutoSPRINK <your version>\Parts.mdb

AutoSPRINK will automatically regenerate this file with the appropriate privileges the next time it is launched.

*If you've created parts and want to preserve your database, you will need to modify the security permissions on your parts database file.

Navigate to C:\ProgramData\AutoSPRINK <your version>\parts.mdb

Right-click parts.mdb and select Properties.

On the Security tab, click Edit... then select your user name thencheck the box under Allow for Full Control.

Note: The directory C:\ProgramData is hidden by default and you may need to choose to show hidden and system files and folders.
